Sri Maha Ganapati

The world “Ganamu” means a group and “Pati” has several meanings such as Leader, Husband, king etc. So Ganapati means a leader of a group. The Divine symbol "Omkaram" literally has taken a form of lord Ganapati. Ganapati is manifested in many forms. Ganapati in Srividya is worshiped as Vallabha Maha Ganapati as the son of  Lalita Mahatripura Sundari.

During the war between "Sri Lalita Mahatripura Sundari" "Bhandasura", "Vishukra" the brother of "Bhandasura" had launched a missile named “Jaya Vigna Silaa Yantra” against the army of Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari. Then the goddess “Maha kameshwari” (Lalitha Maha Tripura Sundari) lovingly smiled looking at lord “Maha Kameshwara”. Their two gazes were in the rhythm with each other. In that blissful state a splendors  beam of light emerged with in their gazes. That beam of light then descended into a divine form and emerged as Sri Vallabha Ganapati.

Ganapati is the embodiment of Shiva and Shakti. In the war between Lalitha Tripura Sundari and Bhandasura, he destroyed "Jaya vigna shila yantram" and killed Gajasura.
